Vegan con Carne

So, What's a Vegan con Carne?

It's the easiest way to explain that, instead of making two separate meals to satisfy vegans and non-vegans, I craft menus that are complimentary.

I still make meat, whip up breakfast omelettes, melt cheese over everything, and keep the "butter garage" stocked with the real stuff.

I've been eating 100% vegan since August 2010... and I haven't made a single dish yet that my husband and dog haven't loved!

Reading Recipes

The recipe titles indicate whether the recipe is suitable for:

vegans = green

carnivores = blue

When the recipe title is black = both, I've shown substitutions that make the recipe vegan-friendly = green and substitutions that make the recipe carnivore-friendly = blue.

Recipes are usually for two very hungry people and, occasionally, one 92-pound dog.

I always make extra of the vegan version for others to try (which I learned the hard way!).
